ASBESTOS TESTING | ECOS  888-375-3267

The rules for ASBESTOS TESTING are outlined by the State of Colorado as follows:

For residential clients, you need to test for asbestos if you are going to  A) remove more than 32 square feet  or  B) remove more than 50 linear feet  or  C) remove more than the equivalent of one 55-gallon drum of any material besides concrete, wood, bricks, or steel.  For commercial clients, you need to test for asbestos if you are going to  A) remove more than 160 square feet  or  B) remove more than 260 linear feet  or  C) remove more than the equivalent of one 55-gallon drum of any material besides concrete, wood, bricks, or steel.  ** Both residential and commercial clients need to condust asbestos tests if they plan to demolish their building **

You cannot tell whether a material contains asbestos by looking at it, unless it is labeled. When in doubt, treat the material as if it contains asbestos or have it sampled and analyzed by a qualified professional. You should contact ECOS Environmental & Disaster Restoration to test for asbestos in these situations:

  • When an asbestos suspected building material is disturbed
  • Before any renovations on property built before 1978
  • Before any demolition work on property built before 1978
  • If you live in a house or apartment building built before 1978
  • If you are buying, selling or renting a premise built before 1978

How ECOS Will Help
